Therm-O-Disc, the world leader when it comes to Bimetal Disc Controls and Limits, available in different types of configurations and enable temperature control and protection from overheating for a variety of applications.
Here is a list of Bimetal Controls with their features that will be helpful in determining what purpose you are serving:
The first Bimetal Control is the 36T Auto Reset Bimetal Control, which provides reliability in a small, flexible, low cost design action of the bimetal disc as well as high-speed contact separation which allows for ideal life cycle characteristics at electrical loads of up to 15 amps at 120VAC and 16 amps at 250VAC.
Applications include: Drip coffee makers, gas furnaces, clothes dryers and dishwashers.
Features include:
- Single pole, single throw
- Contacts open or close on temperature rise
- Enclosed or exposed disc
- Surface mounting, airstream mounting and board mount configurations
- Wide variety of terminals
- Conical or gold contacts available
- Ceramic construction available
- CTI 250 construction available
49 High Temperature Bimetal Control is the next series of control from Therm-O-Disc which provides ¾” (19mm) bimetal disc reliability in a high temperature package. The ceramic design of this control combined with the snap action of the bimetal disc enables quality life characteristics at calibrations up to 550°F (288°C) and override temperatures up to 625°F (329°C). The bimetal disc housing can be either enclosed for protection from unwanted elements or exposed to allow more thermal sensitivity. The 49T is often used with heating and major appliance manufacturers.
Features include:
- Single pole, single throw
- Contacts open or close on temperature rise
- Enclosed or exposed disc available
- Surface mounting, airstream mounting available
- #8 screw terminals
The 60T Auto Reset Control from provides reliability in a compact, versatile, low cost design. The bimetal disc’s snap action allows for high-speed contact separation which provides great life cycle characteristics. The 60T is utilized in many major appliance and HVAC applications.
Features include:
- Single pole, single throw or single pole, double throw
- Contacts open or close on temperature rise
- Enclosed or exposed disc
- Surface mounting, airstream mounting
- Wide variety of terminals
The 69T Biased Auto Reset Bimetal Control is also a ¾” bimetal disc temperature controls provide different temperature operations with a low-cost design. This is often used where multiple temperature control is needed.
Features include:
- Internal heater construction for consistent temperature depression
- 69TK design offers increased temperature depression for more design flexibility
- Enclosed or exposed disc for either increased thermal response or protection from unwanted elements
- Available in automatic reset single pole, single throw and single pole, double throw switch configurations
- Surface mounting, airstream mounting
