New UV/Wet location rating by NMB Technologies Corporation

NMB Technologies Corporation, a Minebea Group Company, is now offering a UV/Wet location rating for many of their cooling fans. These ratings include but are not limited to the AC axial 4715HS Series, as well as the 5915PC Series. Fans that possess a UV/Wet location rating provide further environmental protection when outdoor elements are of concern.

NMB Technologies Corporation ranks number one for the world’s largest manufacturer of miniature precision ball bearings, as well as a volume leader in both design and manufacturing of precision electro-mechanical components. These components include cooling fans and blowers, precision small motors and mechanical bearing assemblies, as well as a total solutions supplier of backlight and LED programmable drivers.

The AC axial 4715HS Series and the 5915PC Series were previously available potted, but are now also UV/Wet location approved. Due to the nature of this rating, these fans can now sustain inclement weather ranging from direct rain contact, snow, ocean spray, fog, etc.

NMB has previously offered various forms of AC and DC cooling fans that were made available potted and IP rated, though OEM applications often require thermal solutions with higher levels of fortification. With this new line of UV/Wet location approved fans, NMB offers further advantage to the OEM when the device is openly exposed to various weather hazards.

Extensive testing of environmental situations has been conducted for these devices under UL-507. Examples of environmental tests demonstrated on these devices include water spray, humidity conditions, sealing compound, and thermal cycling, as well as ultraviolet radiation testing for UV approval.

If you are an OEM with specific environmental needs or preferences for your thermal application, look no further than NMB for your service needs. You can also check out our website for more information about NMB cooling fans.
